WordPress has been a hot topic around the blogosphere, with all sorts of people doing a lot of great work. I try to make at least one post a month that highlights some of the great stuff others have done, so feel free to check these out if they sound interesting to you:
- Daily Blog Tips has posted 11 Tips For Choosing a WordPress Theme. This list has some good stuff to consider when you are WordPresss theme shopping.
- Lunarpages is having a WordPress theme design contest over on their website with some pretty good prizes. The catch? You have to upload the theme to their site.
In addition to the stuff you’ll find here at Hack WordPress, there are all sorts of things being discussed around the blogosphere about WordPress. Here are a few things I’ve collected that I hope people will find useful:
- Webware has posted about Matt Mullenweg and his thoughts on the future of blogging. Included is quite a bit of talk about the development of WordPress and his hopes for the future of the internet being open source.
- JohnTP features a WordPress plugin called Feed Count. This plugin helps the user display their Feedburner subscriber numbers in a convenient text format.
- WordPress Garage explains how to give each comment a link in your WordPress theme. This might be something people would want to do for certain types of blogs where comments are cited regularly.
Today marks the one month anniversary of the registration of HackWordPress, com. The following day, this blog was launched. It has been quite an adventure so far, and I’ve got a lot of great stuff scheduled to be posted over the coming days and weeks.
