Increase Donations With The Buy Me A Beer WordPress Plugin

A quick scan of the blogosphere will reveal a variety of “Donate” buttons that people can use to make donations to the blog author.   These are nice, and depending on traffic, will occasionally get some use.   Unfortunately, many people don’t know how much to donate or need a little extra push to make that donation.

This plugin assists you in placing a picture of a beer mug (or coffee mug if you don’t drink) on your sidebar or at the bottom of each post with a link to donate funds via paypal. In order to install this plugin, you’ll want to go through the normal process of uploading it via FTP and activating it from your WordPress dashboard.  Once this is done, you can add it as a widget to your sidebar, or advanced users can just plop this code where they want it on their sidebar:

You can also go into options and check a box to add it below each post.   This will also place it below each post in your feed so feed readers can also check it out.
