Blogging has become popular over the past five years for two main reasons. Bloggers like the ability to have their voice heard without having to go through editors or censorship, while readers enjoy blogs because they are quicker to break news and they allow direct interaction with the author.
Whenever I create a new blog, the first thing I add is an About page to give more information about the author, and the second thing I add is a way to contact the author. This is where the WP-Contact Form plugin by Douglas Karr really shines!
This form provides you with the security you need to protect your e-mail address and personal information from spammers while at the same time providing you a bunch of useful functionality. Once you’ve activated your plugin, you can add a bunch of functionality from the Options panel in your WordPress dashboard including:
- Add a drop-down menu to give users options
- Give users the option to carbon copy themselves
- Add a challenge question that users need to answer
If you are a WordPress user and don’t have a contact form, or you just aren’t happy with the one you are using, I recommend giving this one a shot. If this doesn’t sound like the one for you, here are a few other popular contact form plugins that you make like better:

Coincidentally, I just switched over to WP-Contact Form last night after using another contact plugin for several months. WP-Contact Form was very simple to install and configure taking only a few minutes effort. And, it looks good out of the box.

Robert,
Thanks for stopping by! I definitely feel this is the best of the ones available. I e-mailed the author with a few suggestions for a future update of the plugin, but overall I am very pleased!

Thanks! There’s a lot more that I’d like to do to it, I just need 20 more minutes in every day.

Hi Doug,
Always great when the plugin author stops by! I definitely know what you mean about time. I’d prefer an extra few hours each day.
Like I said, this is my favorite Contact Form plugin. I would like to see some additional options like sizing the text fields and adjusting the background colors, etc. Its not a huge deal as I was able to do this manually, but its always more convenient being able to make adjustments without editing code!

Thanks for the tip,
But sadly when I install it, enter the correct email address, when I come to send a test contact form message, it will not work.
I have contacted my hosting, and they are not sure either,
Anyone got any good ideas?
Thanks,

Neil,
No idea why the plugin wouldn’t work. Sounds like either a problem with your WordPress install or your web hosting.
I would recommend trying to contacting the plugin author, as others may have had the same or similar problem.
