I’ve always been a huge fan of Brian Gardner’s Revolution themes, but one of my favorite things has been watching Brian grow as a web designer. While many theme designers release a theme and then move on to the next one (premium or free themes), Brian has always been great about both supporting his themes and regularly releasing updates to his existing themes to add new features, including more control panel options, and whatever else he can find to improve them. People who have purchased the themes then get a free update.
Today I noticed Brian has taken his Revolution series into a new area that I don’t believe any other designers are operating in, and that is the music genre. There are a number of great music blogs out there and now there is a new music WordPress theme available for them to use.
So, what do you get with the Revolution music theme?
- Special Featured Content plugin and thumbnail section on the homepage
- Drop-down menu navigation
- All 3 sidebar areas are widget-ready
- Theme options page inside WP dashboard
- Comments section coded for Gravatars
- Google AdSense integration in between posts and comments
- Blog page template
Here are some screenshots, though in my opinion you need to view the actual demo to get a true appreciation for this one because of the new “featured content” section.

This theme is available at Brian’s standard pricing of $79.95 for the single-use license and $199.95 for a multiple-use license. Check out the demo of Revolution Music.

Brian has also decided to celebrate his new theme release and the one year anniversary of Revolution with a special sale. From the end of the weekend, you can buy the Music Revolution theme (single-use or multiple-use license) and contact him to get a second Revolution theme of your choice completely free.
Back when WooThemes was announced last month, the team announced that they were planning on a regular new theme release schedule possibly as often as once a month. Well, it has been about a month now and true to their word, they have released their next theme, named Papercut.
Here is what you get with the papercut theme:
- Five eye-catching theme styles to pick from that include the default, newspaper, red print, wood and floral prints.
- An unique homepage layout, with a beautiful grid structure that keeps your content looking fresh and appealing.
- Beautiful comment styling and unobtrusive advertising banner placements.
- A completely widgetized sidebar with custom widgets included in the theme packaging. No third party widgets required.
- Integrated Banner Management widget to display banner ads of your choice site-wide.
- Integrated Theme Options (for WordPress) to tweak the layout, colour scheme etc. for the theme.
- Automatic Image Resizer, which is used to dynamically create the thumbnails and featured images.
- Custom Page Templates for Archives, Sitemap & Image Gallery.
- Built-in Gravatar Support for Authors & Comments.
- Integrated Banner Management script to display randomized banner ads of your choice site-wide.
And of course, here are the screenshots:

While the look of WP Vybe speaks for itself, where this theme really shines is within the control panel. I’ve had the privilege of being able to look through a lot of premium WordPress themes over the past year, and this one definitely takes the cake of those I’ve seen so far. Though WP Vybe works fine without making any settings adjustments, as you can see from this picture you can control just about everything from the built-in control panel:
Each of those links takes you to a section of the control panel. I’m serious when I say you’ll have to scroll for close to a minute to reach the bottom of the page.
Despite all these new features and functionality, Michael has chosen not to raise his prices, and instead is offering WP Vybe for his standard pricing of $99.00 (Single-Use), $199.00 (Mulitple-Use), and $299.00 (Developer’s Pack).
For those of you that participate in the Revolution affiliate program, I just wanted to give you a heads up that Brian is currently offering a special promotion. Basically he is offering a 25% payout bonus for one week on all sales! See this post for additional details.
As a quick side note, I know some of you have purchased one of Brian’s themes. If you’ve bought a single license and have thought about upgrading to the All-Inclusive Developer package (get all of his themes, plus future releases), he is temporarily offering an upgrade option for just $200 (instead of the usual $320). This offer ends at 12:00 midnight Friday July 11th CST.
The WordPress community is filled with a number of great WordPress theme designers who are regularly releasing both free and premium WordPress themes. One thing that quickly becomes apparent when reviewing all the themes out there, is that each theme designer has their own unique style, and each person who downloads or buys themes has different tastes as well.
One of my favorite WordPress theme designers right now is Lee from Themespinner, whose themes have a very unique and custom style that I personally have always enjoyed. Today I was excited to find out that Lee has followed up his Themespinner campaign with a new theme, this time called One Theme.
This theme boasts one of the largest feature lists I’ve ever seen:

I’m not sure those pictures even do the theme justice, as the comment form and every detail is really well done. If you’d like to get more information or purchase One Theme, it is currently available for $99.95 (Webmaster license), $199.9 (Webmaster Pro license), or $299.00 (Web Developer license).
Wow, is it just me, or can Brian Gardner read minds? As most of you know, I maintain a large portfolio of domain names as sort of a hobby. A couple of weeks ago I invested in a couple of Geo domains with plans to develop them into portals for their respective city niches. With the focus of the internet continuing to become more and more local, I think these types of domains are the best way to invest money online right now.
As Brian has been prone to do in the past, he has released a theme that is exactly what I am looking for, at the exact time I need it. Today he has released his new City WordPress theme, which was of course designed to serve as a portal for a geo domain or similar website.
Here is a screenshot of the theme:
Revolution City theme features:
- Featured tabber and thumbnail section on the homepage
- Dropdown menu navigation
- All 3 sidebar areas are widget-ready
- Theme options page inside WP dashboard
- Comments section coded for Gravatars
- Google AdSense integration in between posts and comments
- Blog page template
A common strategy among city domainers is to develop a blog along with your city domain, so I really like that Brian included a blog template with this theme, and it is available at an affordable price!
If you are interested, right now you can purchase the Revolution City theme single-use package for the Revolution standard price of $79.95, or many will want to get the multi-use package for $199.95. Of course people who have purchased the All-Inclusive package will get the theme for free.
